17 Screw in the fuel filter mounting bracket. Use a drive socket #8. Use a ratchet wrench. 18 Attach the fuel pressure sensor connector. 19 Connect the fuel lines to the fuel filter and lock the fastening clips. 20 Connect the bleeder kit to the fuel filter bleeder screw. 21 Fill the new filter with fuel. Spoke to our fleet guy at work, we have the 1.6 TDCi 110PS in Focus, 308, V50 and Mazda3, all require Eolys fill up at 37,500 and replacement DPF at 75,000. We have 2.0 TDCi in Focus and S-Max, neither requires Eolys fill up or scheduled DPF replacement. He rang his contact at local Ford dealer to confirm and the plot thickens.

Using your hand vacuum pump, connect the pipe to the centre outlet of the filter (which you should not have connected yet). Then pump your vacuum pump until you see fuel start to come out the filter through your pipe. Then remove the hand vacuum pump, and connect the centre pipe using the method described above. Posted July 7, 2014. Having an ongoing problem with air getting into the fuel in my Focus 1.6Tdci. First thing that happened was the car just cut out and diagnostics suggested a fuel rail pressure sensor so that was replaced. Then, following a full service, the car would just cut out every 500 miles or so.
The 1.6 TDCi diesel engine's belt should be replaced at least every 180,000 kilometres or 10 years, whichever comes first. Apparently, for cars built up to July 2011, the interval is 140,000km or 10 years. And yes, it's advisable to change the water pump at the same time. Shane O' Donoghue - Complete Car Advisor.
